Is Video recording only functional under certain codecs and frame rates? Might I be making a n00b mistake with the camera? Do I have a lemon?Īny other ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. Though the Zebra sensitivity does appear to be affected by the display mode switch. Also, the BMPCC display doesn't seem to show much, if any, color difference while recording either. ![]() ![]() While I am admittedly a bit unfamiliar with this camera and the new BM workflows, try as I might, I cannot see any difference in the recorded images between Film and Video. The challenge I'm having seems to be with the Video mode in the BMPCC. Trying to mirror that workflow with the BMPCC I've switched from Film mode to Video mode and have been recording in a medium-size Apple ProRes 422 codec which seems to be about same compression and file size of the Panasonic. My standard keying work is recorded in P2 video using a Panasonic native codec, and is composited in post using Premiere vs a live technique. I have a nice setup with a variety of KinoFLo lights on the foreground and background and have done hundreds of hours of typical HD video recordings and green screen keying with very good results. The main issues seems to be that I'm not getting rich saturated colors from the BMPCC even though I've switched the recording mode from Film to Video. However, my efforts with green screen production using the BMPCC have not been very successful. ![]() Also, I'm interested in the Studio cameras too for green studio presentation work that I do a good deal of. ![]() Based on these test drives with the BMPCC I plan to acquire an URSA Mini 4.6k when they start shipping. The results have been great and very promising. Most everything shot so far has been in Film mode to explore color grading, BM workflows and such for documentary type work. I have recently begun shooting with the Pocket Cinema.
